We are a busy 24 bedded emergency surgical assessment unit caring for emergency admissions in the specialities of colorectal, urology and gynaecology including early pregnancy complications. Within the ward we have a separate ambulatory assessment unit, taking admissions from the emergency department and GP referrals and a surgical emergency outpatient clinic and our staff work within all of these areas. As a team, we strive for excellence in everything that we do; incorporating the 6 Cs in our nursing.
The successful candidate will need to possess good keyboard skills and experience of working in a busy, challenging environment. The role will include general ward reception duties such as answering the telephone to enquiries, supporting patients, visitors and members of the public with their enquiries, and maintenance of accurate records, assisting all members of the multidisciplinary team and communicating relevant information in a timely way.
We are looking to recruit staff that have exceptional IT and record keeping skills, and a knowledge regarding confidentiality and data protection. If you believe you have good customer service skills with a pleasant and professional telephone manner then please apply. NHS experience is desirable but not essential.
Working Pattern: 21 hours per week including some weekends

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2024-5 rates, inclusive of a pay award implemented from October 2024. If you join before this date, the pay award will be backdated to April 2024 or your start date, whichever is later. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 2023-4 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2023/24 | NHS Employers).
