An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the colposcopy team. The Colposcopy clinic is situated within the Gynaecology Ambulatory Centre in Heatherwood hospital.
We are looking for an accredited nurse Colposcopist to join our team but training in colposcopy would be offered if not accredited at a band 6 Annex 21.
Main duties of the job
1. Manage own workload of patients booked for colposcopy
2. Triage referrals
3. Attend colposcopy MDT meetings
4. Work with all members of the colposcopy team to triage see and treat patients within the national guidelines

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Band 6 with experience in women's health
* Desire to train as a diagnostic and treatment Colposcopist (for a Band 6 training post at Annex 21)
Experience
* Extended Gynaecology/Oncology nursing experience (outpatients/inpatients)
* Senior gynaecological management experience
* Understands need for resource management
* To mentor Junior Nursing and Medical Staff
Skills
* Fully understands professional responsibilities
* Counselling certificate
* Ability to critically evaluate and assess patient care
* Ability to effectively prioritise own case workload and to manage colposcopy activities and appointments (for band 7 post)
* Understands and manages KC65 reports.
* Organisation of colposcopy in accordance with the NHSE Quality Assurance regulations for Colposcopy
