Quantity Surveyor (Social Housing) | Freelance | Watford, Hertfordshire
Salary: £250 - £280 per day

I have a great opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established main contractor on a freelance basis, working on residential/social housing projects, based out of their offices near Watford, Herts.
The company is a family-run business that has been around for approximately 30 years. They have a wide and varied client base which includes Local Authorities, Housing Associations, and Private Sector Clients.
The business has a young, dynamic, and energetic management team with a strong business plan in place; they are further developing their client base, and this is a great opportunity to join a growing business.
Duties include:
* Prepare a list of enquiries at the procurement stage and collate tender information which will be sent out to the supply chain for pricing.
* Analyse tender returns and collate information for discussion with the team.
* Support the team to increase and improve upon the existing supply chain.
* Compile and issue sub-contract orders and ensure these are signed and returned along with any supporting documentation.
* Review and sign off on any sub-contract applications and prepare and send out payment notices.
* Undertake detailed internal and external cash flow forecasts.
* Produce monthly AFA’s for clients.
* Produce monthly valuations and agree with clients.
* Agree Final Accounts with the supply chain and clients in a timely manner.
* Work closely with the site team to ensure that all costs are recorded, providing support if needed.
* Issue variation orders if required, ensuring relevant documentation is available to substantiate.
* Attend site visits to provide assistance and support to both the commercial and operational side of the business.
* Compile, complete, and issue detailed and accurate CVR’s to directors.
Ideal Candidate:
* Self-motivated with experience working in the Social Housing sector.
* Able to work autonomously.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficiency using office IT applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word or equivalent software.
* Be punctual and have good timekeeping.
* Can take instruction from more senior managers and effectively carry out tasks.
* Full UK Driver's Licence.
