Overview:
Compass Associates is excited to be recruiting for experienced Counsellors on behalf of a leading Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provider. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to provide immediate emotional support to individuals across a variety of sectors, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing. Working within a hybrid model, you will deliver support via a 24/7 helpline and have the opportunity to take on structured therapeutic sessions once post-probation.
As part of a highly supportive team, you will be guided by a team of experienced managers and clinical experts, ensuring the highest standards of care for clients in distress. Key Responsibilities:
* Provide immediate emotional support to clients via telephone, web chat, and email.
* Assess clients’ needs and provide appropriate guidance, with the potential for crisis management.
* Take on therapeutic sessions with clients, offering structured counselling once probation is completed.
* Manage and de-escalate high-risk situations, ensuring client safety through proper risk assessment.
* Collaborate with your manager to address critical cases, including liaising with emergency services if required.
* Access a wellbeing room for debriefing following challenging sessions.
* Work within a team structure that includes both on-site and remote counsellors.
* A minimum of 12 months post-qualification experience in counselling (non-negotiable).
* A minimum of 150 hours of adult counselling (this can include qualification hours).
* Level 4 Counselling Diploma or equivalent.
* BACP Registered (or equivalent membership: NCPS, IACP, UKCP, BABCP, COSCA).
* Experience managing suicidal ideation and trauma cases.
* Must be within a reasonable commuting distance to Manchester.
* Flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts.
* Office Hours: 7am to 8pm, with shifts spread across the week.
* Full-time: 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home.
* Part-time: Flexible hybrid working options.
* 25 days + 8 bank holidays, increasing with service.
* Monthly supervision allowance.
* Full funding for BACP registration (or equivalent).
* Access to a Learning Hub and funding for qualifications.
