Play a key role in keeping our buildings safe and clean.
Join our dedicated and well-established building cleaning team to assist with the allocation and supervision of cleaning work. We are a friendly and welcoming team who fully understand the levels of cleaning required and work closely together to ensure our standards of cleanliness are met and maintained.
This is a full-time, permanent post, working 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday. You'll work in various council buildings across the city and in specific geographical areas. You'll be required to work in adverse weather conditions.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll supervise the cleaners to ensure high standards are maintained and meet the health and safety criteria to ensure the safety of cleaning operatives, service users, and visitors. You'll delegate and undertake daily tasks which include vacuuming, mopping, dusting, polishing, cleaning toilets and washrooms, clearing rubbish, and restocking hand soaps and toilet roll dispensers. You'll oversee work to check that all tasks are complete before the staff finish for the day. You'll check the cleaning materials stock and plan orders to ensure the team has the right level of cleaning equipment and consumables. You'll assist in completing quality conversations to address issues they may have, or that you have with their performance. You'll carry out cleaning audits on housing estates and other buildings, as well as assist in the training of other cleaning operatives.
What You'll Need
As a methodical and organised individual with substantial cleaning experience, you'll have the ability to lead by example and motivate the team. You'll have a good understanding of COSHH and Health & Safety within the workplace and be able to apply this within the various environments. Using excellent verbal and written communication skills, you'll be able to give clear and concise instructions to the team, liaise with members of the public, complete forms, and maintain records. A strong team player, you'll also be able to work on your own initiative to ensure daily tasks are completed.
