We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Senior Façade Engineer to join our growing team in London.
From concept to construction site support, at Sweco we cover the full spectrum of building façade design and engineering consultancy services and building envelope solutions. We’re always ready to assist developers and contractors alike with leading technical knowledge and capability to create a safe, inspiring and sustainable building fascia for any kind of structure. We focus on inward-out methodology as well as aesthetic exterior design, immersing ourselves in the structural, thermal and practical as well as the visual across all aspects of façade consultancy.
As a Senior Façade Engineer you will:
* Perform façade structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes, standards and engineering formulas.
* Use computer-assisted façade engineering and design software and equipment for simulation purposes and to prepare engineering design documents.
* Work closely with the Team Leader or Project Leader on all technical matters relating to the projects.
* Investigate and recommend on engineering system selection.
* Undertake liaison and coordination with other designers, including architects, and other engineers to agree on safe designs and their fit with the aesthetic and concept of the construction.
* Prepare design reports at concept and sketch design stages.
About You
You'll have an engineering or architectural degree or equivalent, a Masters in Façade Engineering is desirable although not essential, what’s more important is a good understanding of Building Physics and compliance within the UK as well as different façade materials and systems.
You’ll have demonstrable project experience along with a portfolio of work, will be conscientious and results driven ensuring you meet targets for budget, programme, quality, safety and performance whilst problem solving, contingency planning and finding innovative and practical solutions.
Working collaboratively with colleagues, clients and contractors, you’ll have excellent interpersonal skill and be able to communicate in a fluent and positive manner and produce reports in clear English. You’ll organise and prioritise your own workload and take responsibility for your personal development and as a senior enable and support the learning of others.
