Business Development Manager – Construction & Building Services
Location: London (with national coverage)
Salary: £85K-£90K + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits
Our client, a leading player in the construction and building services sector, is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team and contribute to the next phase of strategic growth. This role is critical in driving the generation of new business opportunities and expanding market share across key regions, including London, Cambridge, Oxford, Birmingham, Manchester, and surrounding areas.
Role Overview:
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing a targeted business development strategy, ensuring the company’s pipeline remains strong and aligned with long-term growth objectives. You will be instrumental in identifying high-value opportunities, establishing strategic relationships, and promoting the company’s services to a diverse range of key stakeholders, including Tier 1 contractors, M&E consultants, project managers, and architects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within the construction and building services sectors across multiple key regions.
* Develop and manage a strategic sales pipeline, ensuring opportunities are tracked and updated regularly.
* Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including Tier 1 contractors, project managers, architects, and end clients.
* Conduct in-depth analysis of client needs, operations, and preferences, utilizing this knowledge to enhance competitive positioning and tailor solutions.
* Attend industry events, networking functions, and business development forums to foster strategic partnerships and drive market presence.
* Collaborate with internal teams, including Bid Management, Communications, and Project Teams, to develop and execute winning proposals.
* Provide regular reporting on sales activity, competitor intelligence, and market trends.
* Bring forward innovative solutions and contribute to the evolution of the company’s business development strategy.
Candidate Profile:
* Proven experience in business development within the construction, building services, or a related sector, with a track record of securing high-value contracts.
* Strong relationship-building skills, with demonstrable success in engaging with Tier 1 contractors, project managers, and other key decision-makers.
* Proficiency in managing a sales pipeline through CRM systems and delivering results against KPIs.
* Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
* A self-driven, results-oriented approach with a focus on delivering high-quality, sustainable growth.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, with strong IT and analytical skills.
