This full-time, on-site role based in Plymouth offers an exciting opportunity to manage procurement operations, develop supplier relationships, and drive cost-effective strategies in a dynamic environment.
Role Summary:
As a Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring parts and components essential to operations. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will play a key role in aligning purchasing strategies with business objectives while ensuring quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supplier Management:
o Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and reliability.
o Negotiate contracts and monitor supplier performance.
* Procurement Operations:
o Source and procure materials, parts, and components.
o Manage purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement records.
* Cost Management:
o Analyse market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
o Implement cost-reduction strategies effectively.
* Compliance:
o Ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
* Collaboration:
o Work closely with internal teams to meet procurement needs.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience in procurement, ideally within manufacturing or rail sectors.
* Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
* Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools.
This is a full-time role, working five days a week on-site in Plymouth.
