Job Reference: TS435603 Location: Loughborough LE11 Rate: £14.44 per hour Hours: 12 hours per week term-time, 30 hours per week non term-time, and 38 nights per year respite Contract: Permanent Closing Date: 31st January 2025 Personal Assistant support is required by a young individual in the Loughborough area to help them maintain relationships, community access and personal care. Role Requirements You will be required to provide support with: accessing the community maintaining safety maintaining relationships personal care ensuring the client is appropriately clothed using the toilet domestic tasks nutrition You must have a full clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle with business insurance. Mileage will be paid by the client. Support is required: During term-time: one evening per week for 6 hours and 6 hours on either a Saturday or Sunday 30 hours per week during school holidays There is potential for these hours to be split between 2 or more Personal Assistants. Respite support hours are also required for 38 nights per year. This will be 3 nights per month however the client would like the opportunity to save these to enable their parents to have a 7 night break away. During these nights you will be required to stay in the family home. This opportunity is suited for someone who is responsible, reliable, patient, and respectful of others’ privacy, dignity, values, and beliefs. You will need to think creatively to plan activities. The client has been diagnosed with ASD and severe learning disabilities. They do not present with challenging behaviours and need to be kept safe. The client has a communication book with symbols and PECS, which is a preferred communication method. They do know single words, but cannot hold a full conversation, but they are able to point out needs and label meaningful objects. The client requires support getting in/out of the shower. The shower room has been adapted.
