Job Overview
We are looking to recruit a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our team at Great Yarmouth Acute Services, Northgate Hospital. The successful candidate will work within a Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) and will have the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills within acute mental health.
The successful candidate will supervise and support 2 other staff members, an activity coordinator and an OT assistant, to implement person-centred OT interventions and promote the OT profession within this setting, under the supervision of an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist.
You will develop strong therapeutic relationships with service users during their admission, guiding assessments and interventions to make admissions meaningful and purposeful. You will network with community teams and professionals to promote recovery and discharge, and liaise with local third sector services to engage service users in meaningful activities post-hospital.
Main Duties of the Job
You will be expected to:
1. Take a clinical role in the OT assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of services for clients.
2. Contribute to and participate in multi-disciplinary team assessments.
3. Be involved in planning, development, delivery and evaluation of person-centred care planning and formulations.
4. Provide a first line response to referrals, conducting health and social care needs assessments as necessary.
