Job Purpose This post, as part of a small finance team, acts as Systems Administrator for Home Master: our combined finance and housing system. You will ensure that access levels and security are appropriately maintained on this system. The post will also build and deliver financial reporting templates and other key performance reporting for BD Reside. It will produce, benchmark, analyse and interpret data ensuring industry standard definitions are used where appropriate. One of the post’s first task’s will be to work with the HomeMaster Implementation Project Team to design and test our new reporting framework that will enable us to monitor our performance as we transform BD Reside’s services and move them from the Council to BD Reside. This framework will be designed using PowerBI. Key Deliverables Act as systems administrator for our combined housing and finance system HomeMaster: Manage and maintain HomeMaster including ensuring that access levels and security rules are appropriately created and maintained on this system. Co-ordinate the submission of enhancement requests for Homemaster Manage and maintain the chart of accounts and other aspects of HomeMaster as required. Note this may include maintaining the property database working closely with colleagues in Asset management Work closely with the project team design our financial and other performance reporting system which you will then manage, develop, administer, maintain and continuously improve. Work with the business to collate and manage data used in the reports, resolve data validation issues and ensure the integrity of performance reporting is maintained. Submit Regulatory Reporting Returns when appropriate. Collaborate with services to develop performance metrics, ensure that industry standard definitions are used for key metrics and ensure data accuracy and integrity. Support of data requirements for systems projects. Deal with queries as they arise. Carry out other tasks as required to support the wider team Essential Requirements (key skills & qualifications) CCAB qualified or part qualified accountant or qualified by substantial experience as a systems accountant Ability to develop relationships with a range of stakeholders and some evidence of influencing. Experience of designing and running complex reports from large amounts of data, ensuring the integrity of the reports. Experience of acting as a systems administrator / accountant Experience of working with business intelligence tools such as Power BI. Note SQL or similar is NOT required. Advanced user of excel and other reporting tools, you should be comfortable with and have experience of analysing and manipulating large amounts of data in Excel and other reporting tools. Able to analyse, interpret, explain, and summarise data and issues in a logical, straightforward manner, highly numerate Able to demonstrate a well organised, hands on and systematic approach to work. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience of using accounting and housing software packages and extraction of data in various forms. Excellent communication skills are essential to present findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders. You should demonstrate passion for the sector, commitment, and drive to consistently do the right thing and pursue continuous improvement in a fast-paced, adaptable, and collaborative environment.
