Job Description
Come and join Thornford Park as a Part-Time Wellbeing and Welfare Champion, where you will be a friendly face to staff as you instil and maintain a positive working culture that has a strong emphasis on improving employee wellbeing.
You will work 22.5 hours a week at Thornford Park in Thatcham, where you'll be responsible for identifying the evolving needs of staff, providing resources, planning events, and being a point of contact for those who may need further wellbeing assistance.
Liaising with the Regional Wellbeing Lead, you will deliver communications, initiatives, and regular themed wellbeing events, managing an allocated budget and stock.
As a Wellbeing and Welfare Champion, you will be responsible for liaising with internal and external stakeholders and supporting staff with communications.

As a Wellbeing and Welfare Champion, you will be:
* Printing and putting up publicity posters in your workplace
* Being the point of contact in your team for any colleague who wants to know more about Health & Wellbeing activities
* Putting health and wellbeing on your team meeting agenda and updating colleagues about what’s happening
* Keeping a resource of health and wellbeing information for colleagues
* Promoting health campaigns through poster displays and distributing leaflets (e.g., Stoptober, World Mental Health Day)
* Encouraging colleagues to sign up for health & wellbeing challenges such as regular pedometer challenges
* Signposting colleagues to relevant services/people
* Raising/escalating any concerns appropriately
* Supporting and checking in with new starters from a wellbeing perspective
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* An interest in health and wellbeing
* An understanding of healthy lifestyles and a willingness to undertake relevant training
* The ability to keep and maintain records
* Previous experience within a similar role and/or environment
Where you will be working:
You will work at Thornford Park, which combines medium secure and low secure units and rehabilitation flats, providing a seamless internal care pathway to support and empower patients in their recovery and rehabilitation.
You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide personalised assessment and treatment programmes for males with mental illness/complex care needs, as well as those with personality disorders. Service users may have histories of offending and/or may have failed in previous placements.
