Salary: UH9 £56,921pa to £67,757pa by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience
Annual Leave: 30 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Main duties and responsibilities
We are recruiting for the Senior Bid Manager in RES. You will proactively lead on the identification, drafting and submission of tenders and large strategic bids in order to grow income through the contracting of the University’s knowledge exchange provision. The overall knowledge exchange offering includes contract research, collaborative research, knowledge transfer partnerships, consultancy, and bespoke solutions.
You will develop and deliver a plan for the Innovation Bid Team that is effective in encouraging strong bid applications from university colleagues and turning these into strong submissions. The Senior Bid Manager will utilise up-to-date market knowledge of the funding landscape to provide strategic insight and input into the selection of bidding and tendering opportunities. You will establish and foster relationships with funders and internal and external stakeholders, to maximise funding opportunities and strengthen collaboration. The Senior Bid Manager will lead on the horizon scanning of funding opportunities to stimulate growth in the University’s areas of expertise, and significantly contribute to income targets through securing contracts.
Skills and experience required
You will have proven experience of operating in a business development environment within the higher education sector. In addition, you will have a track record of writing, accurately costing, and leading on the development of successful bids and tenders within a higher education context. You will have sound knowledge of different funding bodies and government innovation agendas. You will also have extensive experience of sourcing, reviewing and identifying relevant funding opportunities. You will be highly self-motivated, professional and fully committed to delivering a high-quality service with a commitment to the University values.
Qualifications required
You will be educated with a minimum of a Degree or equivalent professional qualifications or proven relevant experience.
