Business Development Manager
Salary: Up to £120k OTE (+ benefits, including car allowance and private medical)
Location: Home-based, the role is customer facing and will require travel within the UK.
Full-time permanent, 37 hours per week
Allen Lane is supporting an organisation in their search for a Business Development Manager, this is a new post in the structure as the organisation aims to significantly increase their Utilities, Social Housing and wider commercial sector client base. Prior exposure to these sectors will be advantageous.
The Business Development Manager will be able to influence the direction of the business by identifying and closing new business opportunities and researching new markets whilst cultivating client relationships to directly contribute to revenue growth. To be successful, we are looking for a self-starter with a track record of closing deals worth circa £250k. You will be able to demonstrate a track record of self-generating and winning new business opportunities. Experience of successfully selling managed service or point solutions is important and evidence of doing so within core non-government client base is essential.
The postholder will have access to a generous commission scheme based upon individual sales achieved. Our client is seeking an immediate start. You will be a home-based employee, but comfortable travelling within the UK given the customer-facing nature of the role.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* A track record of new business development across one or more of the following market sectors: Housing associations; Utilities; Finance
* Minimum five years’ sales experience in an equivalent BDM role
* Demonstrable evidence of hitting / exceeding sales targets
* Experienced in selling managed services and/or point solutions with typical deal values of circa £250k
* Experience of managing a pipeline of opportunities using CRM
* Excellent relationship building skills
* Experience of presenting at all levels (up to and including Finance Directors and C-suite)
