An opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join the occupational therapy rotation in central Lancashire, which is a well-established rotation post with a variety of learning opportunities. The rotation offers the opportunity to undertake occupational therapy in acute mental health, forensic services, and community mental health.
You will be involved in the maintenance and delivery of Occupational Therapy Services across the trust, including the coordination and implementation of tailored specific treatment programmes for your own caseload. There are excellent facilities, ranging from ward-based involvement to a custom-built therapeutic resources centre (with a range of facilities including a sports hall and gym), a vocational rehabilitation facility, a social centre, as well as accessing the community and community-based interventions within CMHT.
Lancashire and South Cumbria Care NHS Foundation Trust is a Community and Mental Health Trust whose services include mental health and substance misuse services to the residents of Lancashire and South Cumbria. The Trust also provides low and medium secure care and forensic services.
Secure Mental Health Care for Lancashire and South Cumbria is provided at Guild Lodge, Whittingham. The service has steadily expanded from its inception in 1999 and currently has a range of inpatient and community services including 164 beds.

To provide an occupational therapy service to those accessing mental health services across Lancashire and South Cumbria Foundation Trust. The post is a rotational post, whereby the post holder rotates to a new area of practice every 12 months, ranging from inpatient acute mental health services to forensic mental health.
As part of the Occupational Therapy Service, the job holder will be required to work in a variety of clinical areas with an allocated caseload.
The post holder will be supervised to develop their understanding of the relationship between occupation, mental and physical health, to provide occupational therapy utilizing assessment from the Model of Human Occupation and C-MOPE. This is to maintain, restore, or create a beneficial match between the abilities of the person, the demands of their occupations in the areas of self-care, productivity, leisure, and the demands of the environment.
