Data Analyst - Pensions Data - Hybrid Working

Salary: £36,000 to £42,000 (DOE). You may be eligible for a Welcome Bonus of up to £1,500, 10% annual bonus potential, and a company pension scheme with highly competitive contribution rates. Generous annual leave offering of 25 days, plus bank holidays, increasing with years of service.
Location: Hybrid Working - Requirement to attend Royal Mail, Pond Street, Sheffield, S98 6HR on an ad-hoc basis for team meetings.
Royal Mail Pensions is looking to add Pensions Data Professionals to its De-Risking team. This is a new team within the Pensions Service Centre focusing on delivering comprehensive reporting and analysis for the Royal Mail Pension Plan.
About the role:
* Develop an in-depth understanding of the data held and how this reflects the routines and calculations over the members' life in the Royal Mail Pension Plan.
* Assess the integrity of data held on the pension administration system, provide system extracts, and design tests along with supporting bulk data migrations and reconciliations to external parties for our members' plan.
* Work with and compare large data extracts and summarize for input to decisions and solutions for any necessary rectification actions.
* Apply knowledge to design checks for data integrity, completeness, and accuracy, running reports and providing relevant extracts and/or summaries of the data, with clear explanations.
* Collaborate across the De-Risking team and wider Pensions Service Centre to define solutions for any remaining pension benefits, record keeping, and administration processes.
* Produce and test any systems change requests required, including any reports specified under contract (e.g., triennial valuations) and deliver final migration to any selected insurance provider and/or advisors.
* Work with partners on Bulk Data Migration, validation, and reconciliation to third-party systems.
* Prepare and define bulk mailing extracts for individual Member Statements and support any member queries; provide plain and clear explanations of how the results were derived.
What you need:
* Broad and deep understanding of Defined Benefit structures, particularly with a complex benefit structure scheme.
* Well-developed numerical and analytical skills, with experience of working with large volumes of complex pensions data.
* Highly developed communication and influencing skills, with experience of working with senior internal and external stakeholders, and professional advisors.
* Excellent PC skills, Advanced Excel with experience of handling large data files, query and validation; desirable Microsoft Access.
