Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a wonderful 8 year old little girl living in the Cyncoed area of Cardiff. I am a very content and happy little girl. I enjoy the park, softplay, swimming and dressing up. My family is looking for someone to take me to activities that I enjoy. I have a visual impairment and profoundly deaf. I’m non-verbal, but I use a pecs board to communicate my basic needs. I can walk independently in doors but I need guidance when out and about due to my vision impairment and I use a wheelchair for medium to long distances.
PURPOSE OF JOB
I need someone to support me to access activities in my local community.
PLACE OF WORK
In the community.
HOURS OF WORK
Hours of work can be flexible.
Weekdays from 3:45pm to 5:45pm twice a week.
Or Saturdays or Sundays any time between 10am and 6pm.
RATE OF PAY
£14.00 an hour
TASKS INVOLVED
Taking me on social outings.
Guiding me when out and about (including pushing a small wheelchair).
Supporting me when needing the toilet.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
A friendly, caring, trust-worthy, patient person.
Car driver with access to a car is essential.
Experience working with disabled people is desirable.
Experience working with children is desirable.
Able to pick up a small, fold-up wheelchair.
ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
