Great opportunity for a Site Engineer working for a successful civil engineering contractor on civil and wastewater projects near Haywards Heath, West Sussex.
Ideally, you should have a B.Sc. Degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering. If you are looking for a position that will give you a lot of responsibility and the opportunity to develop, this is for you.

Main Objectives of the Site Engineer
1. Developing project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with relevant stakeholders.
2. Coordinating general logistics, procurement, and site activities.
3. Preparing project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Site Engineer
1. Collate engineering specifications in order to generate supply chain enquiries.
2. Review/create detailed and accurate Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS).
3. Undertake site surveys, taking measurements, photos, asking questions of operations, understanding of process, assessing access and egress.
4. Resolve technical and logistical issues as they arise - utilizing the teams' technical expertise as required.
5. Supporting project needs and coordinating activity between key stakeholders.
6. Drive and lead procurement of materials and services.
7. Evaluate, organize, and prioritize workload within the schedule.
8. Attend client and operational meetings.
9. Liaise with clients.
10. Regularly report project progress and updates to Senior Management.
11. Defect management and close out of defects.
12. Supplier management: Day to day liaison with suppliers and sub-contractors.
13. Assessment of supplier quotations.
14. Programme management: adherence to programmes and report to management on any discrepancies.
15. Tendering: preparation of tenders, passing to management for review and final sign off.
16. Attendance at supplier premises to inspect completed works.
17. Support management team, supervisors, and team leaders where required.
18. Ensuring compliance with CDM & HSE regulations.
19. Delivery to time and cost.
20. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
Requirements
1. At least 2-3 years previous project engineering experience ideally within the water & civils sector.
2. Excellent technical skills.
3. The ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative.
4. B.Sc. Degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering.
