Secondary school cover teachers (also known as an unqualified teachers) will work within secondary schools in the Sheffiled area to provide cover for a class when a teacher is not available. They are employed on a flexible and day-to-day basis to ensure that a teacher can have time away from the classroom to carry out other duties (PPA time, training days etc.). They may also cover lessons for short periods of time for teachers who are away from school due to sickness or for other absences. Cover supervisors are not responsible for planning or assessing a lesson, the schools will provide set work for students to complete and the cover teacher's responsibility is to manage behaviour and ensure that pupils remain on task and complete their work.
You will need:
* Experience of working with young people.
* Self-motivated and reliable.
* Able to travel around Sheffield and surrounding areas.
* Available to work Monday-Friday/ Usual working hours are between 8.00am-3.30pm
* Hold a current Enhanced DBS that is registered with the Update Service or to be prepared to apply for a new DBS (cost applied).
* Experience of working within education.
* A degree level qualification in any specialism.
