Job overview
We are recruiting for a Junior Resuscitation Practitioner who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
You will work as part of the team supporting the resuscitation improvement strategy for the Trust, helping ensure that the service is able to develop to fulfil the needs of East and North Herts NHS Trust staff and maintain a safe environment for patients.
You will work across the Trust, ensuring effective and safe delivery of care for patients, particularly in partnerships with teams such as critical care outreach and sepsis team with a drive to prevent patient deterioration.
Working closely with the Non-Medical Education team and Medical Education team to deliver training to all clinical staff employed by the Trust and will support continued improvement in providing education across the Trust.

Main duties of the job
* Work with other team members to ensure the standardisation and development of the service.
* Participate in the planning, delivery, organisation and evaluation of training programmes delivered by the department.
* Manage day-to-day operation of the resuscitation service delivery with other members of the team.
* Provide training for the general public in both adult and paediatric life support when required.
* Respond to 2222 calls for deteriorating patients and cardiac arrests, supported by Senior Resuscitation Practitioner.
* Support investigations into in-patient cardiac arrests and deterioration.
* Will require specialised knowledge and skills in the resuscitation of patients.

Person specification
Qualifications / Training
* Professional clinical qualification. RN, ODP or Paramedic (NMC or HCPC).
* RCUK ALS or EPALS provider Certificate.
* Generic Instructor Course Qualification (Resuscitation Council [UK]) or nomination of GIC instructor potential (within 4 years).
* ALS or EPALS Instructor/ Instructor candidate/Instructor potential.
* Willingness to study and achieve further RCUK provider/instructor course certificates.
* NLS instructor.
* ALS instructor.
* EPALS instructor.
* EPALS or APLS Provider Certificate.
* Competence in administration of First Line Drugs.
* ALERT Provider Certificate.
* ILS instructor.
Previous Experience
* Band 5 experience in Acute care area such as ED, CCU, Acute assessment or Theatres.
* Experience of working in a multiprofessional clinical environment.
* Mentoring experience.
* Clinical teaching.
* Clinical audit.
Skills
* Well-developed interpersonal/communication skills.
* Ability to work both within a team and independently.
* Ability to rapidly assess, interpret and co-ordinate the initiation of treatment.
* Proven teaching and assessing ability.
* Ability to provide constructive clinical debriefing to members of staff post cardiac arrest and other critical events.
* Ability to plan and co-ordinate a comprehensive training program for all levels of staff.
* Ability to lead and facilitate the development of a team and its members.
