WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
To become an Hourly Paid Lecturer in our Performing Arts department, we need someone who is passionate, knowledgeable, communicative, and able to inspire and mentor students in a creative and inclusive environment.
The successful candidate will have the chance to acquire new skills and develop their abilities in a wide range of activities.
We have a variety of students from the surrounding area, and we are a welcoming and inclusive community that champions diversity and equality across our college.
This position is centred in Worcester, but all applicants must be prepared to travel to our campuses or surrounding areas as required.
For this current academic year, this role requires a commitment of 6 hours per week.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
In summary, as someone who has at least a Level 2 qualification in both Maths and English, or a willingness to gain, you will support in many aspects. To name a few:

AIM AND PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of the role is to be responsible for flexible and proactive delivery of an agreed teaching programme in Performing Arts and other related areas. In addition to teaching, undertake a range of administrative and developmental duties that contribute to improving standards and achievements and the learner experience.
KEY ROLES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Teach across a range of programmes in Performing Arts and associated areas.
* Develop the curriculum in Performing Arts and associated areas.
* Take an active part in the recruitment of learners, providing appropriate advice and guidance.
* Deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
* Support, and where appropriate, contextualise and/or ‘signpost’ English and Mathematics in the curriculum.
* Develop and use new technology in teaching, learning, and assessment.
* Provide assignment and assessment material appropriate to each specific programme.
* Produce schemes of work, lesson plans, individual learning plans, and assessment schedules.
* Evaluate and assess the work of learners in relation to the curriculum criteria and provide timely constructive feedback.
* Attend curriculum meetings and contribute to quality improvement mechanisms.
* Keep accurate and effective systems of administration which support the student and College needs.
* Ensure safe working practices across the programme area.
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Commit to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
* Participate in the College’s Performance Management Scheme.
* Continually improve teaching, learning, and assessment through proactive CPD.
* Actively participate in the College’s Quality System.
* Undertake other duties as may be assigned commensurate with the grade and purpose of the post.
* Take reasonable care for the health and safety of oneself and others.
* Support College Safeguarding, Equality, and Diversity policies.
* Operate all HR tasks within the principles of GDPR.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE:
The appointment is subject to the Conditions of Service for Academic Staff. All successful applicants will undergo checks including Enhanced DBS and references.
SALARY:
You will be paid an hourly rate for every hour of work which includes an element to cover ‘other duties’ such as marking, preparation, assessment, and attendance at meetings.
TEACHING QUALIFICATION:
Applicants must hold an appropriate teaching qualification or be willing to gain the Certificate in Education and Training within 2 years of their appointment.
MATHS AND ENGLISH:
All staff are required to have a minimum level 2 qualification in both English and Maths.
