This is an exciting opportunity for a Team Manager to join the new West Yorkshire Maternal Mental Health Service (Paths) and support the delivery of the priorities set out in the NHS Long Term Plan. The post will be hosted by SWYPFT on behalf of the West Yorkshire ICS.
The new Paths service provides support to women and birthing parents experiencing moderate to severe or complex mental health difficulties as a result of birth trauma, severe fear of pregnancy and/or birth (tokophobia) or baby loss (including loss through removal into social care). The post will allow the applicant to gain additional skills and experience in a perinatal setting and in setting up a new service.
The post holder will have the opportunity to provide operational management and input into the development of a new team. They will gain experience of working closely with clinical and operational leaders within the service and SWYPT including partnership working across the West Yorkshire ICS. The role will involve line management of psychological and midwifery professionals working with service users across West Yorkshire. We are a small team of 10 staff who will be working together to develop the service within SWYPT Trust and ICS objectives.
We will consider applications from those who have experience in operational management tasks such as line management, appraisal, e-rostering, datix and outcome management.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking to recruit candidates who are professional, approachable, and able to build positive working relationships with the team and partners across the West Yorkshire ICS. Be confident working within a clinical team and be able to demonstrate understanding of maternal mental health. All applicants must have confidence and enthusiasm for working with partner agencies.
As team manager, the role will include management duties relating to:
1. Line management of the team
2. Recruitment
3. Attending performance meetings
4. Waiters reporting
5. Estates issues
6. Risk register management
7. Leading on and planning regular business meetings within the team
Other management responsibilities to improve the service will include managing complaints and compliments, datix reporting, incident review deep dives, CQC compliance, implementing audits needed from a trust perspective e.g. care plans.
There will also be an aspect of staff development and wellbeing through:

2. Annual leave and study leave sign off
3. Sickness management
4. Appraisals
There will be a focus on reducing health inequalities, inclusion, and engagement of seldom heard communities that the role will contribute to.
Agile working will be required with travel across West Yorkshire to meet service demand.
Secondment or fixed term with part-time and flexible working hours considered.

Job responsibilities
The Team Leader will manage allocated resources on behalf of the trust and local authority to ensure that fundamentals of care are delivered.
1. Provide day to day management of all staff within the community team including sickness and absence monitoring, conduct and performance etc.
2. Ensure that team resources are deployed appropriately to meet the day to day demands on the service.
3. Ensure service provision meets the individual needs of service users and their carers within the personalisation, prevention and recovery agenda.
4. Ensure that the service observes the legal and philosophical requirements of national legislative frameworks.
5. Monitor the quality and appropriateness of service provision.
6. Monitor team budgets and take measures to ensure that they remain within agreed establishments, alerting the budget holder of current or expected budget pressures.
7. In conjunction with the local funding agreements, authorise appropriate use of community care budgets to purchase community care packages which have been developed through quality assessment and care planning process.
8. Ensure the provision of supervision and caseload management for team members in line with appropriate line management structure.
9. Ensure staff management and appraisal systems are implemented and monitored as required by the trust and local authority.

Qualifications
Essential
* RMN / RN Mental Health, or DipSW / CQSW / CSS or OT or NMC Registrants to include RGN and MW.
* Relevant graduate qualification or equivalent.
* Mentorship qualification or equivalent.
* Practice Education or Practice Assessor Preparation Certificate.
Desirable
* Management Qualification related to health and social care.
* Relevant post-graduate qualification.
Experience
