Job Overview: Due to increasing demands and requests, we are seeking two additional Subject Access Request Officers for a three-month period. The successful candidates will be responsible for accessing and extracting information from both digital and physical records while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential data effectively. Key Responsibilities: Process subject access requests in line with the Data Protection Act and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Locate, access, and extract information from computer systems and paper records. Redact third-party and sensitive information to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations. Liaise with internal departments to obtain relevant documentation. Maintain accurate records of requests, responses, and actions taken. Provide guidance and advice on information governance and data protection matters. Ensure all information handling practices adhere to council policies and procedures. Essential Criteria: Previous experience in records management, data protection, or a similar role. Strong knowledge of the Data Protection Act and GDPR. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive data securely. Ability to work independently and manage workloads efficiently. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
