QT Education has been tasked with recruiting an inspiring PE teacher for a highly regarded and successful school in Bristol. This coeducational school serves around 1300 students and holds a ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted.
Role:
* Ensuring that children compete to their ability level
* Motivating students to take up new sports
* Evaluating the performance of students
* Attending parents’ evenings and providing parents with reports
* Training and coaching school sports teams to compete and succeed in events
* Transporting school teams to sporting events
* Ensuring that students pass their practical and theoretical PE exams
Experience, Qualifications and Training:
* We seek a qualified and enthusiastic teacher of Physical Education
* Must be appropriately qualified – QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent
* Ability to teach GCSE PE
* Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential). Training will be provided.
* Suitable role for experienced teachers and early career teachers (ECT)
Skills, Abilities and Attributes:
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
* Good teaching skills
* A passion for Physical Education including up to date knowledge of the UK curriculum
* Knowledge of physical exercises, stretching, nutrition and sports recovery
* Knowledge of different rules and regulations for sports, including athletics and team sports
* A commitment to pastoral care
* An ability to develop good working relationships with students and staff
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
* Enthusiastic about working with young people
* Good organisational and personal management skills
* High expectations of all students
* Self-reliant
* Good time management
Eligibility to work in a teaching role:
* Holds Right to Work in the UK
* Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
* Enhanced DBS with Barred List check certificate which is either on the online ‘Update Service’ or be willing to apply for a new DBS certificate
