We are recruiting for a Housing Team Leader within our Housing Support team. The team provides the administrative functions for the wider Tenancy Services Team, including Tenancy Management, Lettings, and Estates Management.
The successful candidate will, within the framework of the neighbourhood model, council policy, and appropriate legislation, lead, manage, and empower a team of housing support assistants to aid frontline staff in delivering Tenancy Services to council tenants.
They will be expected to support and provide guidance to team members in developing and applying professional judgement in their interactions with council tenants and other partners, supporting tenants to maintain a sustainable tenancy and exercise their rights and fulfill their responsibilities as council tenants.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that business-as-usual time frames are met and team key functions are completed each week. They will work with the team to ensure accuracy in our data management systems and that council, local, and national guidelines are followed. The post holder will work as part of the Tenancy Services team, with the Tenancy Services Manager, other Team Leaders, and Officers to deliver an effective service to Norwich City Council's Tenants.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate effective people management skills and an ability to prioritize their own and others' workloads while also being able to work to a deadline. They will have experience in performance managing a team and will be able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences and respond appropriately to complaints, Councillor, and MP inquiries.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Good standard of education (NVQ level 3 or equivalent)
2. Evidence of continuing professional development
