Metal Workshop Team Leader (Paint, Weld and General Assembly), salary £26,000 - £30,000 DOE. Full Time, Permanent based on the outskirts of Exeter. This will be working Monday to Friday 6am – 2pm.
Due to growth, Wise Employment are seeking an experienced Metal Workshop Team Leader for one of our fast growing clients. This role will see you coordinating and overseeing the manufacture of sheet metal components and also maintaining quality control over items produced.

The Role:
In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have a keen eye for detail and a comprehensive knowledge of metal workshop processes, procedures and controls to ensure components are manufactured to specification within the given tolerances.
This is a demanding and diverse role and therefore, requires a dynamic, flexible and self-driven individual who has strong leadership capabilities and can instil a positive culture within the team and also provide support, training and development where required.
The Paint, Weld and General Assembly area covers a broad range of machinery and skills so knowledge/experience of some would be advantageous; Wet Paint Line, Multi Weld Bays, Powder Coating Line, Rivet Assembly Area, Cincinnati Power Press, Hydraulic Press, Rollers, Spot Welders, Fly Press, Linisher/Belt Sander).
Within this role, you will monitor and progress work within the department in line with scheduled requirements and will be responsible for signing off completed work. You will need to allocate labour where required in order for production schedules to be met including requesting and organising overtime to meet business demands.
Key Skills required:
You will be initiating and leading continuous improvement so a working knowledge of 5S, six sigma and lean manufacturing would be advantageous. It would be preferred that you have management experience in a sheet metal manufacturing role and you must be able to read and understand technical drawings and use a range of measuring equipment.
A CNC/mechanical background would be advantageous along with IOSHH training. You will need to be physically fit and also have line management experience of a small team. You will have excellent communication skills and be a dynamic, proactive and pioneering individual.
