The School represents a lively community of artists, musicians, actors and production artists. It ranks as one of the top five institutions in the world for Music and Performing Arts in the QS World University Rankings 2024. Applicants for the post should be familiar with the demands of board-level governance. They will bring a strong understanding of funding and regulations in the UK HE environment and will be able to contribute to discussions about the strategic and financial future of the School. The new Co-opted Governor will be a confident networker, with good ambassadorial qualities, who will work to further the profile of the School. The ideal candidate will have serious sympathy for and understanding of performing arts. The School’s Board of Governors is made up of a mixture of City of London Corporation Common Council members and Co-opted Governors. There are four board meetings a year, which the new Co-opted Governor will need to attend.
