This is a unique and rare opportunity to join one of the most exciting, large scale, net zero industrial developments where new and emerging technologies will be adopted in support of the rapidly growing electric vehicle marketplace.AESC UK Ltd Department: Quality Assurance Job Title: IQC Supervisor Main Objectives: The role of the IQC Supervisor is to ensure the highest quality and safety standards in all aspects of the laboratory's operations. This includes overseeing the testing, validation, and research of materials and components used in battery production, while maintaining rigorous control over testing procedures, compliance with industry regulations, and the continuous improvement of product quality. The Laboratory Supervisor will work closely with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, R&D, quality assurance, and production, to support the development of high-performance and safe lithium-ion batteries that meet customer specifications and industry standards. Outline and Responsibilities: Manage a team of IQC Technicians ensuring that they are trained, motivated and equipped to carry out their duties effectively. Ensure that lab equipment and instruments are maintained, calibrated and functioning correctly. Monitor inventory and order consumables and chemicals as needed. Enforce laboratory safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Ensure that laboratory procedures and results are accurate, consistent, and meet established standards. Perform routine reviews to identify areas for improvement in the laboratory processes. Plan and prioritize laboratory activities, ensuring deadlines are met and resources are appropriately allocated. Prepare reports on laboratory activities, progress, and results to present to key business stakeholders. Oversee data entry and management in laboratory systems (LIMS/QMS) Maintain records to comply with company/legal requirements. Work cross functionally to develop new methodologies or improve existing processes to meet business requirements. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the laboratory, adhering to good housekeeping practices. Identify opportunities to enhance laboratory efficiency, reduce costs, and improve safety measures. Respond promptly to any emergency situations such as chemical spills. Document incidents ensuring corrective actions are taken to prevent recurrence. Experience & qualifications Required: Bachelors Degree (preferred but not required) in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline. Previous experience in either a chemical or performance/validation laboratory. Knowledge of Li-ion battery or Li-ion battery materials. Experience in managing teams, scheduling, and overseeing daily laboratory operations. Experience in data analysis, interpretation and reporting. Experience with IATF16949, ISO 9001 & VDA preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
