In this role you will:
•Support growth in the business, by contributing towards a range of analytical projects that enhance existing product features and manages the exposure of our existing customers.
•Provide analysis to monitor credit portfolios against agreed performance indicators, identify emerging trends and future risks.
•Examine new data sources, assess the benefit to current strategies and share these findings with stakeholders.
•Support the strategic direction of the team in proactively improving our processes / creating efficiency saves and delivering on analytical tasks.
•Formulate and clearly communicate conclusions and proposals by considering the risk, reward and customer impact, collaborating with teams to make decisions.
•Build strong interpersonal relationships and engage with the wider organisation to provide insight and support for changes required to improve customer outcomes.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
•Previous experience in a relevant analytical / data science role, within a Retail Credit Risk or analytics department (or equivalent in other industries).
•Excellent attention to detail and a track record of analytical capabilities using relevant software packages (i.e. SAS/SQL/VBA/Python) to analyse large amounts of data, draw conclusions and drive actions.
•An understanding of consumer lending products, profitability and credit risk is desirable.
•Technical knowledge of credit reference agencies and bureau data fields / reporting is desirable.
•Knowledge of FCA regulations and experience of their application in a consumer lending environment is desirable.
•Experience of planning your own tasks and activities in line with business priorities, using a variety of analysis and problem solving techniques.
•Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered.
•You enjoy working collaboratively and are a clear communicator.
•You are motivated by making a positive contribution to how we support our customers and deliver for HSBC.
This role can be based in Birmingham, Leeds or Sheffield (Hybrid).
