Job Title: Senior/Principal Hydraulic Modeller
A key role in our Water and Environment South team, working on a variety of projects for public, private and third-sector clients. You'll have the opportunity to apply and develop your skills, with buy-in from clients to assist in your technical progression.
We're looking for a highly skilled hydraulic modeller with experience in leading technical inputs and project delivery for modelling and flood risk management projects. Your expertise will include 1D-2D hydraulic modelling, GIS and its use in hydraulic schematisation, as well as results analysis.
You'll need to demonstrate experience in building new and troubleshooting existing hydraulic models, assessing sensibility of results, calibrating models and improving confidence in outputs. Additionally, you should have an understanding of FEH hydrological analysis, other types of hydraulic modelling, and the structural/infrastructure implications of hydraulic model outputs.
An ideal candidate will have demonstratable experience in the application of flood risk management legislation, planning policy and industry guidance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you'll be working with a multidisciplinary team, liaising with clients, statutory authorities and other stakeholders.
