A teaching assistant is needed for a special educational needs (SEN) school for students aged 4-19 in North London.
As a teaching assistant, you will be working with students with complex needs, including severe (SLD) and profound learning disabilities (PMLD) and autism (ASD).
Willingness to do personal care is preferred for this Teaching Assistant role.
This school is easily accessible from around London, with great transport links.

Your responsibilities as a teaching assistant may include:
1. Implementing positive behaviour management strategies which may include physical restraints, to maintain a safe learning environment.
2. Using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage focus and self-control.
3. Assisting teachers with alternative teaching methods, such as Lego therapy to encourage joint working and communication skills, or intensive interaction sessions to help pupils develop attention and interaction skills.
4. Being aware of safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
To be a teaching assistant, you will need:
1. The right to work in the UK.
2. A clear and up-to-date DBS.
3. A genuine passion for supporting SEN students.
4. Experience working as a Teaching Assistant with students affected by ASD, SLD and PMLD.
5. Strong communication skills and a positive, 'can-do' attitude.
