About the role
The Department of Chemical Engineering is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic individual for a Research Assistant or Associate position within the Clean Energy Processes (CEP) Laboratory. The CEP team conducts research on fundamental aspects of thermodynamics, fluid flow, heat and mass transfer processes with applications to the development of emerging, disruptive energy technologies for heat decarbonisation, waste-heat utilisation, and energy storage.
What you would be doing
As a member of the CEP Laboratory, you will contribute to the research effort by developing advanced theoretical, experimental and/or modelling tools, depending on your profile, to unlock – and inform the design of – disruptive energy technologies. You will be expected to undertake some project management activities, supervise multi-disciplinary teams, assist in supervising undergraduate, MSc and PhD students, submit publications to refereed journals and attract external research funding.
What we are looking for
* Applications are welcome from a wide range of profiles.
* Experience with the design and techno-economic assessment of thermomechanical energy conversion and storage technologies, from end-user, manufacturer and whole-system points of view is essential.
