Service Controller Location: Basepoint, Winchester, with travel around the area Salary: £22,781 per annum Contract: Fixed Term Contract (1 year) Hours: 35 per week We are looking for a dynamic individual who can ensure the effective and efficient day to day logistics operation within the service by coordinating the distribution of service user journeys. A Service Controller ensure the smooth and efficient daily logistics operations within the service by coordinating the distribution of service user journeys. This involves managing incoming calls from hospitals, assessing referrals, and allocating tasks to the crew to meet service user needs. The role also includes managing vehicle maintenance, supporting crews with vehicle checks, and ensuring timely delivery of services in line with policies and procedures. Additionally, the role involves indirect line management of the crew, promoting high morale, and ensuring teams are engaged and aligned with service goals. Can you prioritise tasks when managing multiple service user requests? H ow would you ensure effective communication and coordination within the team? A day in the life or a Service Controller will include; Take incoming calls from the hospitals, identifying and risk assessing referrals Co-ordinating the crew to respond to the necessary elements of the service as required by service users (including transport, resettlement and sitting services); Manage time efficient routes on a daily basis, making effective use of resources in order to meet service user requirements. Ensure the contracted service is delivered on a timely basis to the required standard in line with policies and procedures. Work and support other services within the area to maintain a “hub” approach to service delivery. Support the team with service delivery to cover gaps in service provision. To be a successful Service Controller you'll need; Excellent customer service skills, with caring attitude towards service users and an outgoing friendly manner. IT literate: working knowledge of spreadsheet, email, web based and word processing software. Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise. Ability to deal with queries in a diplomatic and confidential manner. Good driving skills in order to carry out driver observation. Closing date for applications is 24th February 2025.
