The West Brom Building Society is looking to recruit an Equity, Inclusion and Diversity Advisor to join our Human Resources team. The individual will play a pivotal role by supporting the delivery of our Equality, Inclusion and Diversity (E,I&D) Strategy.
The E,I&D Advisor will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing programmes and initiatives that promote E,I&D within the Society, taking a lead from the E,I&D Lead. The role holder will be passionate about fostering an equitable, inclusive, and diverse work environment.
Key responsibilities are:
1. Implement equity, inclusion, and diversity programmes by researching best practices and introducing initiatives that align with the Society’s E,I&D Strategy.
2. Align with our Making Tomorrow strategy, our People Value Proposition (PVP), Employer Brand, and Colleague Experience.
3. Work closely with the HR Business Partner and E,I&D Lead to set measurable goals and track progress.
4. Engage and support the development of the Society’s employee resource group Connect, including relevant sub-groups to achieve the E,I&D strategy and promote initiatives to create an inclusive culture.
5. Provide advice and guidance on E,I&D and conduct workshops to support managers and colleagues in implementing E,I&D practices across their teams/Society.
6. Collaborate with the Resourcing Specialist and Colleague Excellence Manager to ensure diverse recruitment practices attract a variety of talent and retain underrepresented groups.
7. Develop, implement, and monitor E,I&D action plans in line with our E,I&D strategy and update our E,I&D policies, procedures, and communications.
8. Analyse and report on diversity data (e.g., gender, race, ethnicity, disability) to identify areas of improvement.
The skills and experience required are:
1. Previous experience of coordinating and reporting on the progress of existing E,I&D plans.
2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
3. Maintaining excellent working knowledge of the labour market, workplace culture, and changes regarding E,I&D.
4. Ability to deal with sensitive information with empathy and the utmost confidentiality.
5. Experience of E,I&D related projects.
6. Familiarity with current E,I&D trends and legal considerations.
