About the role
We are partnering with secondary schools in and around Southend-on-Sea to recruit Cover Supervisors. Successful candidates will have opportunities for both daily supply work and longer fixed-term contracts.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will manage classrooms of approximately 30 pupils in the absence of the regular teacher. You will cover various secondary school subjects; however, you are not required to be a specialist in each area. Lesson plans will be provided in advance. Your responsibilities will include facilitating the lesson, managing classroom behavior, recording attendance accurately, and providing a handover report to the absent teacher. Successful candidates will be adaptable, motivated, confident, and organized, with a passion for education and supporting young people.
This role is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a secondary school setting before applying for Initial Teacher Training. While previous experience in a secondary school is desirable, it is not essential.
For those new to the role, we offer a comprehensive Cover Supervisor Training Programme to equip you with the necessary skills. Visit our website to learn more about the training program.
