Job Title: Legal Counsel – Shipping & Trading

A global shipping and trading business are offering the opportunity for a Shipping/Trading Lawyer to join their in-house legal team. You will be responsible for providing legal advice on core business areas including marine energy supply, cargo purchasing and trading, vessel ownership, and chartering.
Key Responsibilities:
* Advise on legal matters related to vessel ownership, chartering agreements, and fleet management.
* Provide legal support on cargo trading, supply contracts, and commercial disputes.
* Negotiate and draft contracts related to shipping and marine energy supply transactions.
* Ensure compliance with maritime law and international trade regulations.
* Liaise with external counsel and manage relationships with regulatory authorities.
Qualifications:
* Qualified solicitor with 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in shipping law, maritime law, or international trade.
* Experience with vessel ownership, chartering agreements, and cargo trading is essential.
* Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills.
* Knowledge of marine energy supply and maritime regulations will be advantageous.
The role is onsite 3 days per week in London with a salary around £100k, flexible for the right candidate. The wider package includes bonus, pension, Bupa healthcare and more.
