Waterhouse-Kern Associates are delighted to be working with a leading education company to find a Credit Control Manager. This will be a hybrid role based out of the Manchester area. Education experience is necessary.Main ResponsibilitiesTo oversee credit control matters, ensuring efficient management of the aged debt and credit control processes. To coordinate timely and accurate invoicing for part of the business. Reconciliation of accounts when payments are received and quickly resolve discrepancies if identified.Key TasksØ Develop and implement effective credit control policies and procedures to ensure timely collection of debts while maintaining positive debtor relationships.Ø Lead and manage the credit control team, providing guidance, training, and support to remote working finance officers monitoring team performance and achieve departmental goals.Ø Monitor overdue accounts and manage collections processes, including negotiating suitable payment plans and resolving disputes.Ø Prepare regular reports on aged debt and credit control processes to report into senior managers. Communicate with debtors regarding overdue accounts, addressing queries and concerns promptly and professionally.Ø Ensure that accurate and timely invoices are generated in accordance with agreed-upon terms.Ø Assessing the validity of bills and providing corrective measures when necessary.Ø Prepare and present billing reports to senior managers.Ø Set key performance indicators (KPIs) and conduct performance reviews for the team, ensuring targets are met.Ø Oversee the reconciliation of agents’ commission payable and work closely with the broader Finance team to ensure timely payment of the commission.Ø Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless operations and address any issues related to credit control or billing.Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceØ Legal right to work in the UK.Ø Proven experience in credit control or a related role, preferably within the education sector.Ø Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.Ø Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.Ø Knowledge of financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly XERO and Excel.Ø Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.Ø Organised and task orientated working style. Willing and able to roll sleeves up to ensure deadlines and objectives are achieved.Ø Good team worker with strong communication, delegation interpersonal and numerical skills.Ø Ability and willingness to be deeply involved in the day-to-day execution. This role requires someone who is comfortable diving into the details producing day-to-day activities and working closely with the team on the ground.This role is subject to DBS clearance.
