Job overview
An exciting opportunity has been created for an enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the LD Youth CAMHS team based at Oulton near Lowestoft, Suffolk. We are a specialist service for children, adolescents and young adults (0-25) with a learning disability where there are concerns about their behaviour, emotional well-being or mental health and whose needs cannot be met in mainstream services.
This will be a varied role; whilst the successful candidate will be a non-medical prescriber, the role will bring a host of exciting responsibilities and challenges. They will offer clinical leadership to our nursing team, provide support to our MDT, and hold a small caseload of complex cases.
To help further enhance service user experience, they will support in undertaking clinical audits to help drive positive change.
The successful candidate will be required to travel as part of the post; therefore, a full driving license and access to a car is essential.
Main duties of the job
Joining the clinical leadership team and working as part of the MDT, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning and implementing appropriate treatment for young people who access our service. With your professional judgement and expertise, this may also require medication reviews.
There will be the expectation to liaise with other agencies, including paediatric services, education, and social care, who may also be providing support to the young people in your care.
The successful applicant will also offer opportunities for clinical supervision and consultation to the team’s nurses and wider MDT and have involvement in developing the service we provide.
Working for our organisation
We take pride in being a supportive group of professionals, with a real ethos of care for the young people and families we see. We share core values of being person-centred, accessible and focused on safeguarding children and young people. We offer an ecological systems approach to the assessment and management of emotional & psychological needs and maintenance of good mental health.
We are currently combining office and remote working. Our base is located in Lowestoft - close to the city of Norwich, varied East Anglian coastline and picturesque Broads National Park. So, as well as a rewarding role, there is plenty to offer in the local area as part of the work-life balance we all strive for. Our team also holds wellbeing activities both in and outside of the workplace.
Here at NSFT, we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team who like nothing better than sharing experiences and learning from each other. In addition to ongoing training and development opportunities, we are committed to providing an environment in which you can thrive.
