The opportunity:
Do have far east sourcing experience and want to grow your experience working for a leading omnichannel retailer?
If you have far east buying experience, especially on wood and want to work in a relaxed and flexible culture with ambitious growth plans, speak to me!
What will my accountabilities be?
· Buy product ranges hat fit and fulfil our business strategy.
· Manage suppliers, including pricing negotiation, NPD selection, contract negotiations and commitments, maintain product specifications and ensure all products and administration is legally compliant in relevant markets.
· Monitor and maintain buying margin to hit budget. Recommending actions if budgets are not being hit and maintained.
· Work with internal colleagues to ensure zero wastage and constant supply from internally manufactured products.
· Tender relevant ranges to increase margins.
· Reduce packaging use to increase sustainability and reduce costs and ensure all packaging in compliant with internal operational machinery.
· Ensure all customs paperwork and EUTR assessments arrive from suppliers on time and in full.
· Work with Buying Admin Assistant to ensure that all the correct data is loaded on to the internal systems.
· Support Buying & Merchandising team with long term sourcing strategy.
· Support merchandising colleagues to resolve any short-term changes in supply and deliver against availability targets.
Who will I be working with?
This is a great team with lots of collaboration and you will work closely with the Merchandising team.
A great candidate will have:
Retail buying background with a love of the numbers as well as an eye for product
Experience developing and sourcing product in the Far East / Europe
An understand of how to trade through promotions whilst also having the best margin
Ideally furniture or home / kitchen category experience
