Position: Senior Electronics Modelling Engineer
Location: Harlow
Raytheon UK is seeking an experienced Engineer to join the Assured Position, Navigation and Timing (APNT) team, focusing on Digital GPS Anti-Jam Systems for military applications. The role reports to the APNT Hardware/Firmware Engineering Lead at the Harlow facility.
Main Duties:
* Develop requirements ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
* Collaborate with system engineers on electronic subsystem architectures.
* Create hardware models and run simulations.
* Support schematic creation, PCB design, component evaluation, and verification.
* Work with embedded software and mechanical engineers.
* Generate design documentation and conduct technical reviews.
* Apply knowledge of embedded digital electronics, microprocessor systems, ADC/DAC, SRAM, Flash, FPGAs, and SoC technologies.
* Engage in model-based design and simulation using tools like Matlab/Simulink and SPICE.
* Support prototype development and transition to production hardware.
* Ensure PCB designs conform to defense and airborne standards.
* Design high-speed interfaces such as LVDS and JESD.
* Present technical information clearly and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
* Maintain security clearance (SC level) or be eligible.
* Utilize Xilinx chips, Mentor Xpedition, and create DO254 compliant systems.
* Understand environmental testing requirements (shock, vibration, EMC).
* Apply a systems engineering approach throughout the design lifecycle.
