Job summary There is an opportunity to be supported to train as a Nurse Hysteroscopist within a forward thinking, supportive ambulatory gynaecology team of consultants and nurses. You will contribute to the diagnostic pathway for gynaecological cancers along with diagnosis and management of benign gynaecological conditions. You will be supported to complete a training program at Bradford University, recognised as qualification for the Nurse Hysteroscopist by the BSGE. You will be at band 6 during training, with supervision and clearly defined parameters in the workplace, and move to band 7 on successful completion of training. We have a proven track record of developing and training our staff to work within robust and supportive multi professional teams, challenging our nursing staff to develop advanced practice skills to enhance and add to the quality of care we provide for women within Worcestershire. You will also be part of the gynaecology specialist nursing service providing professional peer support. Main duties of the job To provide competent and skilled hysteroscopy procedures under the direct supervision of the lead Hysteroscopist. Whilst training as a Nurse Hysteroscopist it is expected that you will complete hysteroscopy training initially with direct supervision and within clearly defined parameters. To work as a Trainee Nurse Hysteroscopist and not simultaneously as a registered nurse member of the clinic staff. The Trainee Nurse Hysteroscopist will sit within the Specialist Nurse rota and be available to attend hysteroscopy clinics across the county Monday to Friday to ensure training needs are met. To assist with the further development of and provide day to day clinical care within the Gynaecology Hysteroscopy Service for Worcestershire. As a member of the gynaecology directorate multidisciplinary team to have responsibility for ensuring assessment of care needs, development and evaluation of programmes of care ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients. To liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and co-ordinate all aspects of care in the best interests of the patient and family. To supervise junior staff and to teach qualified and unqualified staff as appropriate.
