An exciting opportunity has arisen to the join the Peterborough iCaSH team, as a Band 5 Associate Clinical Nurse Specialist training post, to progress to a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist in the speciality of Integrated Contraception & Sexual Health (iCaSH). Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust's iCaSH Services provide a range of contraception, sexual health and HIV services to people across the East of England. The successful applicant will demonstrate an interest in all aspects of Contraception and Sexual Health. This role is suitable for a Band 5 Registered Nurse as a progressive training opportunity, to develop and achieve competencies to become a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist in contraception and sexual health. Although HIV care delivery is not part of this role, strong integrated links with HIV clinicians will be integral to this role. The post is suitable for either an individual with comprehensive clinical experience and qualifications of contraception and or sexual health medicine, or an individual with a keen interest to develop in the specialty. You must be motivated and committed, have strong team-working skills and a keen interest in research, training, education and service development. To assist in the assessment of contraceptive/sexual health needs of patients attending Integrated Contraception & Sexual Health services (iCaSH), until deemed competent to carry out autonomous practice To work within the iCaSH clinic offering advice and treatments to patients who request contraception & sexual health matters To act in a responsible manner, being courteous at all times with sensitivity towards the needs of the individual patient, recognising their right to dignity & privacy To work as a member of a fully integrated contraception & sexual health service with a willingness to undertake further training in contraception and GUM to achieve this where identified Contribute to the development of action plans, protocols & pathways to ensure continuous quality improvement of the service In line with the KSF framework, progress personal & professional knowledge & skills Act at all times, in accordance with the NMC code of professional conduct. To record data on all client contacts to enable audit, evaluation & planning of services To provide management of positive STI/HIV, Hepatitis results.
