KEY DUTIES To help in ensuring security management work is carried out with a professional and ethical framework previously developed and provided by NHS Protect. Co-ordinate specific security issues and liaise with management where relevant. Work with both clinical and non-clinical risk teams to develop systems to meet the internal and external security requirements. Work towards achieving a safe working environment by ensuring developed safe working practices are enacted by support staff, patients, and visitors. Support the Trusts Governance framework. Where directed, co-ordinate, conduct, review, advise and support crime audits, inspections, security/crime risk assessments throughout Trust, ensuring timely provision of reports. Participating in root cause analysis through investigations, providing written reports to management. Member of relevant governance committee and groups as directed by Manager, offering support and assistance. Maintain accurate electronic records of investigations, outcomes and learning. Be proactive maintaining a high level of understanding in relation to current issues by means of networking and continuous professional development. Assist on the day-to-day work within the Trust to tackle violence against staff. To work to create a pro-security culture within the Trust, so that staff and patients accept responsibility for this issue. To ensure existing security equipment e.g. lone worker devices function properly and are appropriately used. To carry out Risk Assessments where directed, formulate action plans to improve security and crime prevention, working with the Estates and Facilities Risk Assurance Team to ensure a consistent approach to Risk Management. To maintain links that are built with the local police force, crime prevention officers and other security bodies locally. To work with the Trust to ensure that where appropriate, assisting in ensuring redress is sought from those who commit crime or security incidents where a loss of resource is incurred. To work towards applying a range of sanctions against those responsible for crimes, security incidents or those not complying with Trust Policies and Processes. To deputise for managers where directed. Discretion when dealing with requests for Trust Data, ensuring relevant policies are instructions are followed. To be aware of physical security systems, comfortable in their use, and aware of any relevant codes of practice. Be able to work flexible across multiple sites where directed. Have an aware of Conflict Resolution Training, and assist in the delivery of established programmes across the Trust. To undertake administrative duties where directed.
