Job summary The Macmillan 'Improving the Cancer Journey' (ICJ) role will work as part of the dynamic Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board (ICB) Cancer Transformation team. Supporting the drive to improve cancer outcomes and quality of life, by leading on the integration and improvement of the cancer journey across care settings within Norfolk and Waveney. This fixed term 18-month role will manage the delivery of the system ICJ project within the Norfolk and Waveney Cancer Transformation programme. Leading on the work to promote synergistic working within existing system stakeholders, inclduing community leaders, councils, services, VCSE (voluntary, community or social enterprise) and patients with the aim of improving outcomes for the Norfolk and Waveney population, by reducing inequalities and fragmented approach to care delivery. This hybrid role is based at Norfolk County Council offices in Norwich. Stakeholder engagement and attendance on site at least once a week is required. This can vary depending on meetings, workloads, team engagement and training requirements. The opportunity is available as a secondment for NHS employees. Flexible working options will be considered on the provision the expected objectives can be achieved within the 18-month term of the role. Part time time working will be considered with a minimum 30 hours over 4 days. With the primary aim of improving outcomes for the Norfolk and Waveney population, by reducing the inequalities and fragmented approach to care delivery. For this to be achieved by developing networks and having a governance framework to bring together like-minded people together to support seamless delivery of care regardless of which domain the organisation sits within. To foster trust and erosion of barriers of the organisations an operational framework must be co-designed which will include data sharing agreements to encourage onward referral of patients to the most appropriate resource for them.
