Building a sustainable tomorrow BAM Nuttall are currently involved in a major energy project in the South West (Hinkley Point C, near Bridgwater in Somerset), delivering reinforced concrete, bulk earthworks and infrastructure on one of the UK’s largest projects. We have exciting opportunity for a Senior MEP Planner to join our team. You will need to have experience working on large complex projects like what we have at Hinkley. MEP experience, knowledge of RIBA design process and management of subcontractor programmes would be an advantage. You will have Primavera experience and any 4D Planning experience. NEC contract experience is also desirable. Your work environment ↵ Hybrid working is an available option, but you will be required to be on site weekly so should reside within the South West and be within commuting distance of Bridgwater / Taunton. Your mission As a Senior MEP Planner, you will be responsible for the following: Create programmes from 1st principles, utilising M&E schedules, drawings, and specifications Create an integrated programme from subcontractor programmes Update and monitor progress within a programme against contract requirements Introduce and analyse change in programmes according to prescriptive NEC conditions Produce and communicate programme information in a variety of formats, using routine and bespoke programme outputs Contribute and support operational teams on use of collaborative planning, risk and commercial issues Evaluate supply chain and subcontract programmes Develop and maintain a 4D programme (training will be provided) Collect and distribute feedback Assimilate and interpret information from tender documentation Comply with business processes and systems Resource and cost load programmes Review / Audit programmes for robustness Maintain awareness of latest construction techniques Undertake analytical assessment of programmes Establish and maintain internal and external project controls reporting Develop the content and structure for a tender programme Who are we looking for? The role typically requires the following, however, training and mentoring will be given: A qualification in either Civil / Mechanical / Electrical engineering to HND level UK NEC contract-based planning experience. Must be familiar with Impact/Delay Programmes Previous construction experience, across a wide range of engineering projects, with a good understanding of commercial and contractual matters A clear ability for logical thinking and working in an ordered fashion Thorough experience and understanding of programming techniques A demonstrable ability to produce short and medium-term programmes A sound knowledge of typical production rates The ability to communicate effectively Competency in the use of P6 and 4D software (training available) The ability to work to defined, often challenging, timescales Contribute to a bid-winning strategy for tenders Develop and maintain effective working relationships on projects and interface with operational teams Support the commercial teams on projects Take ownership and contribute to planning, programme and risk from tender through to project completion Adopting and promoting BAM Nuttall’s Vision and Values What’s in it for you?
