The purpose of this role is to perform the role of Single Point of Contact (SPoC) who is an personal trained to facilitate the lawful acquisition of Communications Data and effective co-operation between a public authority, the Office for Communications Data Authorisations (OCDA) and Telecommunications Operators (TO) and Postal Operators (PO). To become accredited an personal must complete a course of training appropriate for the role of a SPoC and have been issued the relevant SPoC unique identifier as defined under the Investigatory Powers Act (IPA ).
Additionally, provide advice to all persons, including Senior Investigating Officers (SIOs), Designated Senior Officers (DSO) and the Force Authorising Officers (FAOs) in relation to the acquisition and disclosure of CD for major investigations, urgent threat to life matters and routine enquiries.
Examine complex data in order to support and guide all persons, including SIOs and DSOs in the direction of enquiries and meeting aims and objectives.
Working daily on enquiries of a stressful and demanding nature, providing Telecoms support and assistance to difficult situations.
