Job Role: IT Trainee Recruitment Consultant
Location: Edgbaston, Birmingham City Centre
Salary: £20-26,000 + commission
We get it. The recruitment market has been on its knees the best part of 18-months now but that’s not to say there are winners in a market where the Industry contributes around £44 billion to the UK Economy each year.
Chapman Tate Associates are a specialist IT Recruitment firm that has been in operation since April 2014. From humble beginnings we have grown exponentially and are hitting some reasonable numbers for a business of our size.
We are looking for looking for a Trainee IT Recruitment Consultant, that will do a mixture of developing a specialist desk, alongside helping us nurture and grow some of our longstanding accounts.
What we need from you:
* Are you charismatic and good on the phone? This role will include selling job opportunities and our services, so can you be creative enough to sell, sell and sell?
* Determination. You will be told ‘no’ on many occasions so do you back yourself to turn that no into a yes!
* Motivation. What’s your why? This role is meritocratic, and the efforts you put in now will leads to results tomorrow (or if not), the not to distance future. The role will allow you to run things the way you want and you will be given the tools to do so.
* Staying commercial. You will be dealing with various candidates and clients in the technology sector, so its paramount you are aware of what is going on in your surroundings and making most of what you know.
* Exploratory. Each day is a ‘school day’ and you will be learning new things. Its up to you how you apply yourself and learn about the sector you are involved in. You will be an Investigator researching about your market that will include mapping skills for companies and various demographics. You will have to sniff out where there are candidates moving and follow the trail for where the business/candidates are!
If you have a passion for technology, then this is a great start. The industry is fast-paced one within IT and is ever-changing on a daily basis. One day you can have nothing on – the next you will need to source 5 engineers for. That’s the exciting part of the role.

Key Responsibilities:
* Sourcing and engaging with top IT talent across multiple sectors.
* Building strong relationships with clients to understand their recruitment needs.
* Managing the recruitment process from start to finish.
* Conducting candidate interviews and preparing them for client interviews.
* Keeping up to date with market trends and emerging IT technologies.

Realistically your first year will be about learning about your market, growing your presence amongst the market you work in, making placements where you can and ultimately putting your best foot forward. Should be looking to make around £5-10,000 (dependent on how you progress) in commission in Year 1, if you hit the targets you are given. Year 2 this should exponentially grow with your knowledge base alongside the clients and candidates you are working with!
