Job summary An exciting opportunity have arisen for a motivated Band 3 Community Support Assistant who has an interest in working with people with first episode psychosis. The successful candidate will work as part of the Northumberland Early Intervention in Psychosis Teams (EIP). It would be beneficial to have experience in EIP or psychosis pathways. The service aims to offer recovery focused comprehensive packages of care appropriate to the needs of its service users during this time. As a Community Support Assistant you will be supporting the multidisciplinary team, offering practical support to service users aged 14-65 years during their initial experience of psychosis under the supervision of Community Practitioners. You will be implementing care plans with guidance and support from the team. Working within an experienced and highly motivated clinical team you will be part of a service engaged in ensuring the best possible practice in contemporary mental health care. Your job role will be to provide support to service users and their families within the community, whilst working collaboratively with other professionals. Main duties of the job You will work alongside service users in the community with interventions that will help in their recovery which may include accessing community facilities, gym, shopping, local groups, assisting them to use public transport in order to attend appointments or become more independent. You will support individuals who are less well, supporting and monitoring their mental health and medication under the guidance of a registered practitioner. Support families and carers.
