Job Description
Stream Marine Training (SMT) is a world-class provider of firefighting, sea survival, survival craft, and HSE approved and certified training courses to the global maritime, oil and gas, renewables, and construction industries.
We are currently seeking a Trainee OPITO Survival Instructor to join our team based at our head office in Glasgow airports east campus to deliver our accredited courses.
The courses we deliver include both theory and practical lessons, and we work across multiple awarding bodies and several industries.
We are looking for a candidate who can deliver courses professionally, confidently, and is highly organized with exceptional presentation skills, an eye for detail, and is competent with Office 365. You will be joining a company that puts clients first and will be part of a passionate, dynamic, and highly motivated team of instructors who deliver first-class training.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver Stream Marine Training LTD approved suite of courses at training centres in Glasgow in a consistent, professional way which reflects our vision and values.
2. Courses initially required to deliver:
1. OPITO BOSIET, FOET, and HUET
2. OPITO MIST
3. Shoulder Measurements
4. Other related short courses as required
3. Support the lead Instructor during practical in-water, basic fire, first aid, and lifeboat training.
4. Carry out delegate competency assessments against the required course criteria.
5. Attend Standardisation meetings.
6. Manage your weekly training schedule, set by your team leader.
7. Primarily involved with OPITO survival courses, and support the demands of other courses within the company's portfolio.
8. Maintain and update courses to meet approval body standards.
9. Promote a positive safety culture at your workplace.
10. Ensure the appropriate standards of Health and Safety are adhered to.
11. Adhere and comply with all company procedures and approval body product specifications and standards.
12. You may be asked to undertake other tasks relevant to your position.
Minimum Requirements
1. Experience in delivering GWO and STCW Courses (desirable).
2. Commercial or offshore diving experience (desirable).
3. Possess occupational expertise in roles related to relevant industries (desirable).
4. Previous experience in a similar role (desirable).
5. Worked offshore/at sea or delivered training in this environment (desirable).
6. First Aid qualified (desirable).
7. A full UK driving licence (preferred).
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £24,000 to £33,000.00 per year (once fully qualified via internal training)
Schedule:
* 40 hours per week
* Working 5 days out of 7 days
* Weekend availability
