Blackpool has been awarded the prestigious National Institute of Health Research's Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) funding - one of only 10 such awards made across the country. £5 million over 5 years will enable us to deliver an innovative programme of research that will support Blackpool to become fully research active. We will scale up our highly innovative community co-research model to improve the unacceptable health inequalities faced by our community, putting the Blackpool community at the heart of everything we do.
To achieve this, Blackpool Council will work alongside Lancaster University, Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, a range of community partners, and crucially, our residents as equal partners in this ambitious and groundbreaking project.

Additionally, the post holder will develop research bids, deliver generic research activity, and create a wide range of accessible research outputs as well as research papers for publication.
